Rio Hondo College sophomore June Babishoff totaled nine goals, including a go-ahead score in the last minute of regulation. But it wasn’t enough as visiting Pasadena City College tied up the game and eventually pulled it out in overtime to defeat the Roadrunners by a final score of 13-11 on Wednesday in both teams’ South Coast Conference opener.

The South Coast Conference announced this morning that due to the recent surge of COVID-19 cases, traditional fall sports have been cancelled for 2020-2021.

It was a tough way to end the season for the Rio Hondo College women’s water polo team. The Roadrunners wrapped up the 2019 schedule with three losses at the South Coast Conference Championships.

With a 4-4 record in South Coast Conference play, the Rio Hondo College women's water polo team has received the No. 5 seed for this week's SCC Championship tournament. The newly-formatted two-day event runs Friday-Saturday (Nov. 4-5) and is being held at Pasadena City College.
