Wednesday night's sweep of new South Coast Conference rival Cerritos College was more than just an ordinary win for the Rio Hondo College women's volleyball program. The Roadrunners have played well of late, winning four of its last five matches. But head coach Teddi Esko can check off a milestone from her list as she earned her 100th career victory at the college.

Rio Hondo College returned to its home court after consecutive away matches and had its modest two-match winning streak snapped with a 3-1 (25-15, 19-25, 25-23, 25-18) South Coast Conference North Division loss to the visiting No. 17 state-ranked Mt. San Antonio College Mounties on Wednesday night.

Leading the match 2-1, the Rio Hondo College women's volleyball team couldn't close out visiting Pasadena City College in its first-ever South Coast Conference match as the Lancers rallied for a five-set victory in Whittier on Friday night.

Rio Hondo College evened its record at 3-3 early in the season thanks to a pair of impressive wins at the Orange Coast College quad on Wednesday. The Roadrunners defeated host Orange Coast in a long five-set match (19-25, 25-19, 25-19, 26-28, 15-13) and then capped the day by sweeping Desert in three sets (25-11, 25-16, 25-22).

Rio Hondo College opened up the 2016 season with one win out of four matches at the second annual Pierce College Kickoff Classic tournament in Woodland Hills. The Roadrunners suffered a 3-0 loss to state finalist and host Pierce as well as a 3-1 defeat to Bakersfield College on Friday before bouncing back with a marathon 3-2 victory over Palomar College. RHC then closed out the tourney with a 3-0 loss to Pasadena City College.
