Fresh off their third-place finish in the South Coast Conference North Division, six Rio Hondo College Roadrunners earned all-conference honors.

The Rio Hondo College men’s soccer team couldn’t repeat its success over Santa Monica College and ultimately had its season come to an end following the No. 8-seeded Roadrunners’ 2-1 loss to the visiting No. 9-seed Corsairs on Saturday in an opening-round game of the 2017 Southern California Regional Playoffs.

Joseph Fuentes’ goal in the 78th minute broke a 2-2 tie and proved to be the game-winner for Rio Hondo College as the Roadrunners defeated Pasadena City College 3-2 at PCC on Tuesday in a South Coast Conference North Division game.

Thanks to its 5-0 rout over West Hills College Lemoore on Sunday, Rio Hondo College took home the championship cup from the 2017 Mt. SAC/Adidas/Azteca Soccer Tournament. The win came after the Roadrunners rallied to beat Fullerton College in their tourney opener on Friday.

For the first 74 minutes of the contest, things were looking good for the Rio Hondo College men's soccer team in their home opener on Tuesday against San Bernardino Valley College. But the Wolverines rallied for three goals over the final 15 minutes to shock the Roadrunners and hand them a defeat by a final score of 3-2.
