Rio Hondo has four earn All-South Coast Conference postseason honors
Following the close of the regular season, the Rio Hondo College women's volleyball team had four members earn 2024 All-South Coast Conference North Division postseason awards.
First-team All-SCC North Division honors went to freshman libero Megan Liggins and freshman outside hitter Rebecca Tarango while freshman middle blocker Katie Noell and sophomore outside hitter Osyris Roldan were second-team selections.
Liggins had a solid first season with the program and led Rio Hondo with 253 digs and a 3.89 digs per set average. Both marks ranked fifth in the South Coast Conference.
Tarango, who was a mid-season addition to the Roadrunners' roster, was impressive playing the final nine matches on the schedule. She led Rio Hondo with a 2.07 kills per set average on her way to 62 kills. Tarango also totaled 71 digs and 12 blocks.
Noell led the Roadrunners with 34 blocks on the season while Roldan was second on the squad with 187 digs.
Under first-year head coach Jackson Wong, the Roadrunners closed the season with a 5-17 overall record and went 3-5 in conference play to finish tied for third place in the SCC North Division.
