WHITTIER – A tough 2024 Rio Hondo College women's volleyball season came to an end on a winning note as the Roadrunners closed out the schedule with an impressive five-set win over visiting East Los Angeles College on Friday.
Rio Hondo won the match by scores of 14-25, 25-23, 25-19, 20-25, 15-12.
It was a season of learning and building for the Roadrunners as well as new head coach Jackson Wong. With a roster comprised mainly of freshmen, Rio Hondo compiled a 5-17 overall record and finished tied for third place in the South Coast Conference North Division with a 3-5 mark. The Roadrunners won two of their final three matches of the season.
Following Friday's match, the program honored its lone sophomore, Osyris Roldan.
