Women’s Volleyball: Wada, Oronoz earn All-South Coast Conference honors

2021 All-SCC Women's Volleyball Awards


Rio Hondo College women's volleyball standouts Faith Wada and Nadine Oronoz earned All-South Coast Conference postseason honors following the conclusion of the 2021 season.

Wada, a freshman setter out of Temple City High School, was a first-team All-SCC selection while Oronoz, a freshman outside hitter originally from Southlands Christian in Rowland Heights, was named to the second team.

Wada ranked fourth in the SCC, averaging 5.69 assists per set while her 472 total assists were fifth. Wada's 43 aces tied for third-most in conference and her 281 digs also ranked fourth.

Oronoz' 3.89 digs per set ranked second in the SCC while her 280 total digs were fifth. Oronoz served up 41 aces, which also ranked fifth.

Rio Hondo wrapped up the season with an 8-16 overall record and finished sixth in the South Coast Conference at 6-11.
