Women’s Tennis: Roadrunners drop 8-1 SCC match at El Camino

Rio Hondo College is still in search of its first South Coast Conference win after falling to El Camino College 8-1 on Tuesday in Torrance.

Heaven Diaz was the lone Roadrunner to pick up a win, defeating Kimberly Linares 6-4, 6-7, 10-8 at No. 4 singles. At No. 3 doubles, the duo of Samantha Garcia and Samantha Martinez nearly forced a second set, but lost 8-5 to ECC's Amanda Vitanatchi and Jay Gomez.

With the loss, Rio Hondo fell to 2-5 overall and 0-3 in SCC play while El Camino moved to 5-3 and 4-0. The Roadrunners return to action on Thursday (Mar. 14) when they host Cerritos College in a 2 p.m. conference match.
