The No. 8 state-ranked Rio Hondo College women's soccer team wrapped up its non-conference portion of the 2021 schedule with a convincing 5-2 win over visiting Chaffey College on Monday.
The Roadrunners will take a 6-1 overall record into their South Coast Conference opener next Tuesday (Oct. 5) at Pasadena City College.
Freshman Alexis Macias closed out an impressive month of September for Rio Hondo, earning a hat trick with three goals against the Panthers. Macias scored in all seven of the Roadrunners' games during the month. Her 14 goals and 32 points currently lead the state.
Camila Garcia and Ashley Vera also scored for the Roadrunners on Monday while Daniella Marin posted seven saves in goal for the win.
