The Rio Hondo women's soccer team put itself in good position to continue where it left off last season. Playing in the South Coast Conference for the first time, the Roadrunners captured a SCC North Division title. And they'll look to continue that trend, starting with Tuesday's 2-0 victory over visiting Chaffey College in both teams' SCC North opener.

The win improved Rio Hondo to 4-2-1 overall. The Roadrunners have won three of their last four contests.

Madison Mader got Rio Hondo on the scoreboard first, thanks to the assist from Emma Contreras. And Ruby Magallon's goal off the assist of Stephanie Arreola secured the win over the Panthers.

Izella Delgadillo was hardly challenged in the contest and earned the win in goal for the Roadrunners.

Rio Hondo will look to extend its winning streak to three games when the Roadrunners travel to East Los Angeles College on Friday (Sept. 29) for a 4 p.m. SCC North contest.
