Rio Hondo College sophomore Daisy Gallegos broke free to score the lone goal in a 1-0 Roadrunner win at Chaffey College on Friday. The victory wrapped up the Rio Hondo's first-ever South Coast Conference North Division championship.

With the title, Rio Hondo has secured an automatic berth into the Southern California Regional Playoffs. The conference championship is the third straight for the Roadrunners and head coach Jennifer Tanaka after winning the last two Foothill Conference titles (2014, 2015).

Friday's victory improved Rio Hondo to 13-1-5 overall while the Roadrunners closed SCC North Division play with an unbeaten 5-0-3 mark. Rio Hondo will open the playoffs on Nov. 19. Southern California Regional Playoff seedings will be announced next week.
