Women's Soccer: Rio Hondo can't find back of the net in draw at East LA

Despite dominating the 90 minutes on the field at East Los Angeles College's Weingart Stadium, the Rio Hondo College women's soccer team couldn't finish off its chances and played to a scoreless draw against the Huskies in its South Coast Conference North Division opener on Friday.

The Roadrunners totaled 22 shots in the contest while the defense and Rio Hondo goalkeeper Jenny Garcia was rarely challenged by two ELAC shots on goal. She posted two saves to help lead the Roadrunners to their fourth shutout of the season.

Freshman Viviana Viramontes did her best to lead the Roadrunners' offensive attack as she totaled six shots while sophomore Erika Lizarraga had four shots.

With the tie, Rio Hondo is still unbeaten this season at 4-0-3 overall. The Roadrunners are 0-0-1 in the SCC North as they head into Tuesday's (Oct. 4) 4 p.m. contest at Pasadena City College.

East Los Angeles, still looking for its first win of the season, moved to 0-8-2 overall and 0-1-1 in the SCC.
