Roadrunners finish third at Southern California Regional Duals
NORWALK – An impressive Rio Hondo College wrestling season continued for the Roadrunners on Saturday. Just days after knocking off rival Cerritos College, Rio Hondo was back at the Norwalk campus to compete at the Southern California Regional Dual Team Championships.
The Roadrunners went 3-1 at the tournament to bring home a third-place trophy.
Rio Hondo opened the event with a narrow 24-22 win over Bakersfield College. That was followed by a 33-18 loss to eventual runner up Palomar College. But the Roadrunners bounced back to beat Cerritos for the second time of the week, 23-19.
And in the third-place match Rio Hondo won six of 10 individual bouts to defeat Victor Valley College by a final score of 24-16.
