Wrestling: Roadrunners finish third at SoCal Regional Duals

The Rio Hondo College wrestling team compiled a 3-1 record on Saturday to finish in third place at the 2021 Southern California Regionals Duals Championships at Cerritos College.

The Roadrunners opened the event with a 38-12 victory over East Los Angeles, but fell in the semifinals to eventual team champion Mt. San Antonio College 44-3.

Rio Hondo bounced back by beating Santa Ana College 34-18 in the consolation semifinals and finished the day by edging Bakersfield College 29-23 in the third-place match.

Saturday's results count towards the Roadrunners' season record and puts them at 5-3 overall. Rio Hondo returns to action on Oct. 27 when it hosts Palomar College in a 7 p.m. Southwest Conference match.
