Roadrunners earn four All-SCC postseason honors
Following the close of the 2024-25 regular season, four Rio Hondo College women's basketball standouts received All-South Coast Conference North Division postseason accolades.
First-team All-SCC honors went to freshman forward Alexia Valencia and sophomore guard Jaden Hill-Massarotti.
Valencia has an impressive debut season for the Roadrunners, averaging 13.4 points per game. She led the SCC with 88 three-pointers and on Feb. 5, she tied the Rio Hondo single-game record by making 11 three-point baskets.
Hill-Massarotti had a solid sophomore season to close out her community college career. She was the Roadrunners top scorer, averaging 16.2 points per game. Hill-Massarotti also averaged 4.3 rebounds, and 2.8 steals on the season.
Second-team honors went to sophomore guard MaryJane Contreras and sophomore forward Hesma Valdes. Contreas averaged 4.0 points and 5.7 rebounds while Valdes contributed 7.9 points and a team-best 8.4 rebounds per game. Valdes was a two-time All-SCC honoreee.
Rio Hondo wrapped up the season with a 12-16 overall record and finished fourth in the South Coast Conference North Division standings at 3-5.
