Women’s Basketball: Roadrunners fall 58-51 at home to Allan Hancock

Rio Hondo College sophomore Amanda Lee scored a team-high points while fellow sophomore Amy Navarro totaled 17 points in a close 58-51 non-conference loss to visiting Allan Hancock College on Wednesday.

The Roadrunners dropped to 13-6 overall and host Los Angeles Southwest College next Wednesday (Jan. 15) before they open South Coast Conference North Division play on Jan. 22 against Mt. San Antonio College.

Rio Hondo fell behind to Allan Hancock early and couldn't recover from a six-point (26-20) halftime-deficit. The Roadrunners (25-57, 44%) outshot Allan Hancock (19-65, 29%) from the field, but three-pointers proved to be the difference. Rio Hondo shot 3 for 18 from downtown while the Bulldogs made 6 of 22.

Lee nearly had a double-double, dishing out 8 assists to go with her 18 points. Alisia Trejo chipped in with 10 points and Sally Smith posted 7 points and 6 assists.

Allan Hancock improved to 10-8 overall with the win and was led by Milan McCary's 22 points.
