Softball: Four-run, seventh inning leads Rio Hondo to win over Chaffey

Team Stats
RANCHO CUCAMONGA – Rio Hondo College rallied for four runs in the top of the seventh inning to come away with a 6-2 non-conference victory at Chaffey College on Wednesday.
With the two squads tied 2-2 heading into the final frame, the Roadrunners got two-run doubles from Leiana Rodriguez and Nadia Landeros to compete the comeback.
Rodriguez went 2 for 4 with 2 runs and 2 RBI while Landeros was 2 for 3 with 2 RBI to lead Rio Hondo at the plate.
Brianna Ortega went the distance in the circle for the win. She allowed 2 runs and 6 hits while striking out a pair to improve to 2-0 this season.
With the win, Rio Hondo evened up its overall record to 12-12. The Roadrunners return to South Coast Conference action on Friday (Apr. 7) when they host Mt. San Antonio College in a 3 p.m. game.
