Softball: Enriquez, Peralta earn All-South Coast Conference honors

Following the close of the 2019 season for Rio Hondo College, a pair of Roadrunners were honored for their outstanding play on the field as freshmen Azucena Enriquez and Madeline Peralta were named to the All-South Coast Conference North Division softball team.

Enriquez, out of La Mirada High School, earned second-team All-SCC honors. She played primarily at first base and catcher for the Roadrunners, but also saw action at third base. On the season, Enriquez led Rio Hondo with a .304 overall batting average, 31 hits, and a .383 on base percentage.

Peralta, originally from El Monte High School, was an All-SCC honorable mention selection. She pitched the majority of the Roadrunners' innings this season, compiling an 8-26 overall record. Peralta started 35 of 39 games, compiled a 4.70 earned run average, and struck out 116 batters over 211 2/3 innings.

Rio Hondo ended the season with a 8-31-1 overall record and was 1-21 in South Coast Conference play.
