Rio Hondo College third baseman Arianna Amezcua went 2 for 2 and scored a run to lead the Roadrunners in an 11-1 South Coast Conference loss to visiting East Los Angeles College on Tuesday.

Rio Hondo College starting pitcher Madeline Peralta got off to a rocky start on Thursday. Facing El Camino College, the Warriors put up two runs in the top of the first, two runs in the second, and four more in the third to hand the Roadrunners a 9-5 South Coast Conference loss in Whittier.

A close game for Rio Hondo College quickly got out of hand. With the scored tied 3-3, Compton College scored eight runs over the final two innings to send the Roadrunners home with an 11-3, five-inning loss on Tuesday.

Freshman Katherine Arroyo drove in two runs and scored twice as part of a big day at the plate to help lead Rio Hondo College to a 7-4 win over visiting San Diego City College on Friday in Whittier.

Freshman Madeline Peralta smacked a bases-clearing triple as part of a five-run, fourth-inning for Rio Hondo College but that would be all the runs the Roadrunners would get in a 12-5 South Coast Conference interdivision loss to visiting Long Beach City College on Thursday.

The 2019 Rio Hondo College softball team got off to a quick start over the weekend as the Roadrunners compiled a 1-2-1 record over two days at the Glendale College Tournament, played at Montrose Park.
