Men’s Swim/Dive: Augustine takes second place in 3-meter dive at State Championships

Rio Hondo College freshman Aaron Augustine earned a score of 259.95 points in the 3-meter dive event to finish in second place on Thursday at the 2019 California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) Swimming & Diving State Championships at DeAnza College in Cupertino.

With his state runner up finish, Augustine secured All-American status in the event as well.

He'll have a chance to extend his medal count on Friday (May 3) when he will compete in the 1-meter dive at the state championships where he is seeded No. 3 for the event.

Augustine captured the Southern California and South Coast Conference championships in both the 3-meter and 1-meter dive on his way to being named the SCC Diver of the Year.  Rio Hondo assistant coach Charly Collins was also named the SCC Diving Coach of the Year.
