SANTA BARBARA – Pablo Sandoval's unassisted goal proved to be the game-winner for Rio Hondo College in its 1-0 non-conference win at Santa Barbara City College on Friday.
Diego Bastidas posted 3 saves in goal for Rio Hondo to help post the Roadrunners' first shutout of the season.
The victory snapped an eight-game losing streak for the Roadrunners. Rio Hondo's overall record moved to 1-8-1 overall. The squad is back in action on Oct. 8 when it opens South Coast Conference play at Los Angeles City College. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
