Men's Soccer: Villegas 90th-minute goal leads Rio Hondo to 1-0 win
Freshman Antonio Villegas turned a likely tie into a Rio Hondo College win thanks to his goal in the 90th minute to stun visiting San Bernardino Valley College and lead the Roadrunners to a 1-0 non-conference victory in Whittier on Tuesday.

Freshman Antonio Villegas turned a likely tie into a Rio Hondo College win thanks to his goal in the 90th minute to stun visiting San Bernardino Valley College and lead the Roadrunners to a 1-0 non-conference victory in Whittier on Tuesday.
The win improved Rio Hondo to 4-1-2 overall this season. The Roadrunners are unbeaten in their last five contests and have won three straight.
Sophomore Alex Saenz set up the game-winning goal with the assist just moments before the final whistle. Freshman Jose Paredes also had a huge game for the Roadrunners as he posted 10 saves in goal to help lead Rio Hondo to its fourth shutout in seven matches this season.
The loss dropped San Bernardino Valley to 3-2-2 overall.
Rio Hondo plays just one more match before its opens South Coast Conference play. The Roadrunners are at Santa Monica College on Friday (Sep. 23) to wrap up the non-conference schedule with a 4:30 p.m. contest.
