RIDGECREST – Freshman Myles Jones scored a team-high 17 points to lead Rio Hondo College in an 87-55 non-conference loss at Cerro Coso College on Friday.
The Roadrunners trailed by nine points, 36-27, at halftime before the Coyotes closed out the contest with 51 points over the final 20 minutes.
George Ashley added 12 points while Max Morelli totaled 9 points and a team-high 7 rebounds.
Rio Hondo closed out the calendar year with a 4-12 overall record. The Roadrunners return to action on Jan. 4 when they play at Compton College in a 7 p.m. South Coast Conference interdivision game.
