Wrestling: Roadrunners take second at East Los Angeles tournament

MONTEREY PARK – In their final competition before the postseason, the Rio Hondo College wrestling team totaled 103.5 points to finish in second place out of 14 teams at the ELAC Brawl on Saturday. The event was hosted by East Los Angeles College.

The Roadrunners were led by a first-place individual showing by Dylan Atherton at the 125-pound weight class. Atherton went 3-0 at the tourney, earning a 11-2 major decision victory over Cerritos' Carlos Garcia in the final.

Bringing home second place were Brian Dryer at 149 pounds and Joseph Estrada at 165. Anthony Hidalgo (174) and Tony Incantalupo (184) both finished in third place.

The Roadrunners return to the mat on Dec. 2 when they will compete at the Southern California Regional Championships at Palomar College.
