Beach Volleyball: Roadrunners bounce back with 3-2 win over El Camino

LONG BEACH – The Rio Hondo College women's beach volleyball team is back in the win column after edging El Camino College by a final score of 3-2 in a South Coast Conference match on Friday at Rosie's Beach.

The Roadrunners bounced back from a pair of tough SCC losses last week and got a measure of revenge on El Camino after the Warriors beat Rio Hondo 3-2 in their previous meeting on March 1.

Rio Hondo got victories at No. 2, No. 4, and No. 5 to escape with the win. The duos of Daniela Sanchez/Josie Navarro and Isabel Villavicencio/Jennifer Reynoso both needed three sets to take their matches.

The Roadrunners improved to 10-5 overall and 1-3 in conference play. They are back in action next Friday (Mar. 22) to host College of the Desert in a SCC match at Rosie's Beach at 10 a.m.
