SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA PLAYOFFS BRACKET

The road to the state championships continues for the Rio Hondo College women's volleyball team.

On Thursday, the South Coast Conference-champion Roadrunners were named the No. 6 seed for the upcoming Southern California Regional Playoffs. Postseason brackets were announced by the California Community College Athletic Association (3C2A) for the north and south regions.

As a top-12 seed, Rio Hondo received an opening-round bye and will host No. 11 Moorpark College in a second-round match on Tuesday, Nov. 21. Match time is set for 6 p.m. at the Rio Hondo College Gym.

Ticket prices for the California Community College Athletic Association (3C2A) postseason game are $12 for general admission and $8 for all identified students, faculty, staff, senior citizens age 60 and over, and children under 12 years old.

Rio Hondo returns to the playoffs for the second straight season. The Roadrunners enter the postseason with an impressive 20-4 overall record. Rio Hondo closed out the regular season on a six-match winning streak on its way to capturing the college's first-ever South Coast Conference championship with a 15-1 mark.

Moorpark enters Tuesday's contest with a 15-8 overall record. The Raiders were champions of the Western State Conference North Division, sharing the title with Ventura and Santa Barbara at 8-2.

Rio Hondo and Moorpark will be meeting for the first time this season. The winner of the match will advance to the third round to likely face No. 3 seed Grossmont College.

Two wins are needed by the Roadrunners to advance to the 3C2A Championships on Dec. 1-3 at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut.
