Women’s Tennis: Rio Hondo falls in battle of Roadrunners, 7-2 at COD

Facing the College of the Desert Roadrunners in Palm Desert on Tuesday, the Rio Hondo College Roadrunners suffered a 7-2 non-conference loss.

On the day, Rio Hondo won one doubles and one singles match. The No. 2 doubles team of Heaven Diaz and Gabriella Tellez was a 9-8 (7-3) winner over COD's Andrea Rapan and Annaya Zubick. And at No. 5 singles, Samantha Martinez beat Madison Burns of Desert by scores of 6-3, 7-6 (7-1).

Tuesday's defeat dropped Rio Hondo to 2-4 overall. The Roadrunners return to action next Tuesday (Mar. 12) when they travel to El Camino College for a 2 p.m. South Coast Conference match.
