Rio Hondo College picked up a hard-fought 9-0 South Coast Conference win over visiting Long Beach City College on Thursday. The victory snapped a four-match losing streak and improved the Roadrunners to 2-6 overall and 1-4 in conference play.

Despite the sweep, the Roadrunners had to go to three sets at No.3 and No. 6 singles. But Delia Hidalgo and Monica Rojas were able to pull out the victories. Alejandra Vasquez had the easiest time for the Roadrunners as she cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 win over Long Beach's Brittany Ruelas.

The duo of Diana Laureano and Alejandra Vasquez picked up a shutout at No. 3 doubles as the blanked Dolores Cervantez and Kelly Zellner 8-0.

The Roadrunners return to action next Thursday (Mar. 10) when they host El Camino College in a 2 p.m. SCC match.
