Rio Hondo College secured its first win of the 2016 season thanks to its 7-2 non-conference victory over visiting Antelope Valley College on Tuesday.
Nicole Robbins, Diana Laureano, and Alejandra Vasquez were all winners in two matches for Rio Hondo. Robbins and Laureano combined for a win at No. 1 doubles while Robbins won her No.1 singles match and Laureano was victorious at No. 4 singles. Vasquez cruised to an easy victory at No. 5 singles and teamed with Trecia Gonzaga to win at No. 3 doubles.
Rio Hondo is back in action on Thursday (Feb. 11) at 2 p.m. when the Roadrunners open South Coast Conference play at home vs. Mt. San Antonio College.
