The Rio Hondo College Women's Swimming & Diving team totaled 162 points to finish in eighth place at the Chaffey College Invitational.

Erica Valdez led the Roadrunners with a pair of top-10 finishes at the event. She had the Roadrunners' best placing, taking sixth in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:11.32. She was also eighth in the 400-yard IM at 5:42.81.

Gabriela Loera added an eighth-place finish in the 200-yard butter fly (3:13.13) while Katelyn Luna took 12th place in the 400 IM with a time of 6:15.31.

Rio Hondo is back in action on Friday (Mar. 18) when the Roadrunners travel to East Los Angeles College to take on Mt. San Antonio College and host ELAC in South Coast Conference dual meets.
