Coach Lopez is in his first season as the interim Head Coach and his ninth season overall with the Rio Hondo Roadrunners. Coach Lopez comes with a lot of experience as a player and coach. In the 2009-2010 season Lopez was honored as an NSCAA All-American for the Rio Hondo Men’s Soccer Team. He was also named the Foothill Conference Most Valuable Player as a striker and midfielder who ended his season with 19 goals and 16 assists.  He was offered scholarships from schools such as CSUF, UCI, USF, & CUI to name a few during his college & PDL seasons playing for L.A. Legends & OC Blue Stars. Lopez played with the L.A. Blues and he has had MLS trials and reserve games for the L.A. Galaxy, Chivas U.S.A, & Seattle Sounders.

In 2018, Lopez was named Head Coach for WPSL La Villa Womens Team where they won the Pacifc Conference Championship and Lopez was named 2018 WPSL Regional Coach of the Year.  He led the FC Golden State Women to a WPSL Coastal Conference Championship in 2019.

As a high school head coach he led South El Monte High School Girls to their first league championship in his first season their high school coach in 2009 and was selected as the head coach for the girls Southern California High School All-Star Team in 2009, 2013 & 2014. In 2017, Coach Lopez led the West Covina HS Varsity team to a Conference Championship and a CIF playoff appearance, their first in many years.
