Rio Hondo College forward Alexis Macias scored three goals while goalkeeper Daniella Marin had three saves to help lead the No. 6 state-ranked Roadrunners to an impressive 5-0 South Coast Conference victory at nearby Cerritos College on Tuesday.

Rio Hondo extended its season-long winning streak to seven games and has outscored its opponents by a 28-6 margin over that span. The Roadrunners are now 11-1 overall and are tied for the lead in the SCC North Division at 5-0.

Macias extended her goal-scoring streak to 12 games and posted her second consecutive hat trick.

With Rio Hondo leading 2-0, Macias scored goals in the 44th, 70th, and 83rd minutes to close out the victory. Her 26 goals this season currently leads the state.

Camila Garcia got the Roadrunners on the board with her goal in the 17th minute and Alice Hernandez made it 2-0 with her 36th-minute goal.

The Rio Hondo defense allowed just five shots to the Falcons (4-7-1, 3-1-1 SCC) and Marin earned her fourth shutout of the season.

The Roadrunners return to action on Friday (Oct. 22) when they host Los Angeles City College in a 6 p.m. SCC game.
