The Rio Hondo College women's soccer team put up its third consecutive shutout on Tuesday in a non-conference game at Ventura College. Unfortunately, the Roadrunners also couldn't find the back of the net and had to settle for a 0-0 tie at the VC Sports-Plex.

Rio Hondo is still unbeaten this season at 2-0-2 overall and plays next on Friday (Sep. 13) at 6 p.m. when the Roadrunners host Fullerton College in a non-conference game.

On Tuesday, scoring chances were limited for both the Roadrunners and Pirates (3-0-2). Rio Hondo's best opportunity came in the 50th minute, but a free kick from 25 yards outs sailed just high above the crossbar.

The Roadrunner defense came through in the 60th minute to stop Ventura's biggest chance. Jasmin Ambriz beat Rio Hondo goalkeeper Anguisel Ramos 1-on-1 but was unable to get to the free ball in front of the net before a recovering defender cleared the threat.

Ramos played all 90 minutes in goal to post her third shutout.
