Women’s Soccer: Roadrunners push win streak to four, beat Compton 5-0

Jacqueline Gonzalez and Hailee Morales both scored a goal and added an assist to help lead the No. 14 nationally-ranked Rio Hondo College women's soccer team to a 5-0 South Coast Conference interdivision win over visiting Compton College on Wednesday.

The Roadrunners have won four straight games and improved their overall record to 10-1-3.

Rio Hondo was up 3-0 at halftime thanks to goals by Gonzalez (20th minute), Zharria Ramirez (35th minute), and Victoria Galindo (40th minute). Joely Camarena (66th minute) and Morales (87th minute) closed out the victory with second-half goals.

Nicole Chavez assisted on two goals while Ruby Magallon and Janelle Piraino were also credited with  assists. Izella Delgadillo had an easy time in goal for Rio Hondo as she posted the squad's third consecutive and 10th shutout of the season.

The Roadrunners will look to keep their run going on Friday (Oct. 26) when Rio Hondo hosts East Los Angeles College in a 4 p.m. SCC North Division game.
