Women’s Soccer: Garcia scores twice in 3-0 Rio Hondo win over Mt. SAC

Rio Hondo College sophomore Sam Garcia scored a pair of goals to help lead the Roadrunners to a 3-0 win over the visiting Mt. San Antonio College Mounties in a South Coast Conference North Division game in Whittier on Tuesday.

The Roadrunners improved to 3-0 in North Division play and moved to 6-2-1 overall thanks to the win.

Ruby Magallon opened the scoring for Rio Hondo before Garcia secured the victory with the Roadrunners final two goals. Flor Suarez, Emma Contreras, and Madison Mader were credited with assists.

Izella Delgadillo (65 minutes) and Wendie Umanzor (25 minutes) combined in goal to post Rio Hondo's third shutout of the season.

The Roadrunners return to action on next Tuesday (Oct. 10) when they travel to Pasadena City College for a 4 p.m. SCC North game.
