Wrestling: Tellez takes second, Rio Hondo seventh at Santa Ana Tournament

Led by a runner-up finish at the 125-pound weight class by Alexis Tellez, the Rio Hondo College wrestling team totaled 43.5 points to finish in seventh place at the Santa Ana College Tournament on Saturday.

Tellez picked up a pair of victories on his way to the championship final where he was edged 5-4 by Mt. San Antonio College's Chris Betancourt.

Miguel Cabrera won the consolation bracket at 141 pounds, defeating Cerritos College's Roland Dominguez in the final to finish in third place.

Rio Hondo returns to the mat on Oct. 13 when the Roadrunners travel to Cerritos for a 7 p.m. dual match to open Southwest Conference action for both teams.
