Wrestling: Roadrunners dominate Palomar in 47-6 victory

The Rio Hondo College wrestling team won nine of 10 matches on Wednesday night on its way to an impressive 47-6 Southwest Conference victory at Palomar College.

Rio Hondo won four matches by fall, getting pins from Ismael Cruz at 157, Hugo Apastillar at 174, Andy Voong at 197, and Diego Sanchez at 285. The Roadrunners led 35-0 before Palomar picked up its lone points in the match, winning by forfeit at the 184-pound weight class.

Khalil Tucker at 133 and Christian Espinoza at 141 added technical falls.

Rio Hondo returns to action next Wednesday (Nov. 6) when it travels to Santa Ana College for a 7 p.m. conference dual match.
