Wrestling: Roadrunners place three at Meathead Movers Tournament

Lead by another strong showing by freshman Andrew Ramos, Rio Hondo College placed three wrestlers in the top six in their respective weight classes on its way to an 11th-place team finish at the Methead Movers Tournament at Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo on Saturday.

Ramos finished second in the 197-pound division. It was his third runner-up showing in five tournaments this season.

Also placing for the Roadrunners were freshman Axel Molina in fourth place at 157 pounds and freshman Marco Valdivia in sixth place at the 285-pound heavyweight division.

Sacramento City College totaled 159 points to take the team title, while Fresno City College was second with 132 points followed by Palomar College in third place with 128.5 points.

Up next for Rio Hondo, the Roadrunners will travel to Cerritos College on Wednesday (Oct. 26) for a 7 p.m. dual.
