Rio Hondo College sophomore Brianna Morales has signed a National Letter of Intent to continue her academic and athletic career at the University of La Verne. Morales made it official at a signing ceremony on campus with her coaches and teammates on Wednesday.

Morales, originally out of Arcadia High School, was a two-year starter for the Roadrunners and played a key role in the turnaround of the women's basketball program and its success over the last two years.

This past season, Morales helped lead Rio Hondo to a winning record (16-15) and a Southern California Regional Playoffs appearance.

"Her toughness and work ethic will be missed next year," said head coach Rene Herrera.  "We wish her the best of luck at the University of La Verne."

La Verne competes at NCAA Division III level and is a member of the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Under second-year head coach Jason Pruitt, the Leopards compiled a 12-13 overall record during the 2018-19 season and finished tied for sixth place in the SCIAC at 6-10.
