Rio Hondo College sophomore Ashley Rendon has signed a National Letter of Intent to continue her academic and athletic career at Eastern Nazarene College in Massachusetts. Rendon is the fourth of sophomore on the 2015-16 Roadrunners squad to transfer on to play at a four-year institution.

Rendon, originally out of Nogales High School, averaged 11.3 points and a team-high 6.9 rebounds per game on her way to earning first-team All-Foothill Conference honors this past season. She scored a season-high 27 points in a win over Southwestern College and was named to the Ventura College all-tournament team.

Rendon helped guide Rio Hondo to a second-place conference finish and a spot in the Southern California Regional Playoffs. The Roadrunners compiled a 14-14 overall record and went 7-3 in Foothill Conference play.

Eastern Nazarene is located in Quincy, Mass. The Lions compete at the NCAA Division III level and are a member of the Commonwealth Coast Conference. Sacha Santimano recently completed her fourth season as head coach of Eastern Nazarene.

Rendon joins sophomores Justine Manjarrez (York College, Nebraska), Julissa Vargas (York College), and Danna Robles (San Diego Christian College) as Roadrunners to move on from head coach Steve Johnson's 2015-16 squad.
