Rio Hondo College sophomore guard Julissa Vargas (Claremont HS) has signed a National Letter of Intent to continue her academic and athletic career at York College of Nebraska. Vargas is the second of seven sophomores from the 2015-16 Roadrunners squad to sign with a four-year college.

Vargas averaged 7.4 points, a team-high 4.5 assists, and 3.6 rebounds per game on her way to earning second-team All-Foothill Conference honors this past season. She helped guide Rio Hondo to a second-place conference finish and a spot in the Southern California Regional Playoffs. The Roadrunners compiled a 14-14 overall record and went 7-3 in Foothill Conference play.

York College is located in York, Neb. The Panthers compete at the NAIA level and are a member of the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC).

Vargas joins high school and college teammate Danna Robles (Claremont HS) as Roadrunners to transfer on. In March, Robles signed with San Diego Christian College.
