Sophomore Justine Manjarrez nailed a school-record 11 three-pointers on her way to a career-high 39 points for Rio Hondo College in an 85-16 rout over visiting Victor Valley College on Saturday in Whittier.

Manjarrez was on fire early, scoring 11 of Rio Hondo's first 13 points. She had 16 points at halftime on four three-pointers before taking over in the third quarter. Manjarrez was even more lights out, making six of nine 3-point attempts as Rio Hondo outscored Victor Valley 26-0 for the period.

Rio Hondo kept Victor Valley scoreless for the second half all the way until the 4:47 mark in the fourth quarter when Tennia Hill made a pair of free throws for the Rams to end the drought.

Manjarrez made her record-setting three-pointer with 3:15 left in the contest.

Sophomores Ashley Rendon and Danna Robles both added 11 points and eight rebounds. Freshman Aliyah Montiel also scored 11 points while sophomore Julissa Vargas had 11 assists for the Roadrunners.

Rio Hondo, now 10-11 overall and 3-1 in conference play, returns to action on Wednesday (Jan. 27) when the Roadruners travel to Foothill Conference-leading San Bernardino Valley College for a 5 p.m. game.
