Softball: Soria tosses shutout, Roadrunners total 18 hits in rout at Mt. San Jacinto

SAN JACINTO – Rio Hondo College freshman Lourdes Soria tossed a three-hit shutout while the Roadrunners' offense exploded for 18 hits over just five innings to cruise to an 11-0 non-conference win at Mt. San Jacinto College on Thursday.

Rio Hondo snapped a two-game losing skid and improved to 18-9 overall. The Roadrunners have won nine of its last 11 games.

Soria turned in her second shutout of the season and improved to 9-3 in the circle for the Roadrunners. She struck out three and walked just one.

Rio Hondo got some huge games offensively as five Roadrunners collected at least three hits in the contest.

Heaven Wolf had another monster game, going 3 for 4 with a pair of triples and a team-leading 4 RBI. Alexis Rivera drove in 3 runs and went a perfect 3 for 3 with a triple.

Ashley Bravo (3 for 3, 3 runs, 2B, RBI), Soria (3 for 4, run), and Nadine Marquez (3 for 4, run) all contributed to the win.

Rio Hondo continues non-conference play on Saturday (April 9) when the Roadrunners travel to Lancaster for a pair of games. Rio Hondo will face Taft College at noon and takes on host Antelope Valley College at 2 p.m.
