Softball: Wolf (5 for 5, 6 RBI) leads Roadrunners to fifth straight win

PALM DESERT – Rio Hondo College first baseman Heaven Wolf went a perfect 5 for 5 with 6 RBI to lead the Roadrunners in a 12-5 non-conference victory at College of the Desert on Tuesday.

Rio Hondo won its fifth consecutive game to improve to 14-7 overall.

Wolf's five-hit game was a part of 18 hits banged out by the Roadrunners. Wolf smacked a two-run single in the third, connected for a two-run triple in the fourth, and closed out Rio Hondo's scoring in the seventh with another two-run single. She scored twice, added a double in the second and another single in the fifth.  

The Roadrunners also got big offensive games from Arianna Amezcua (3 for 5, 3 runs, RBI), Kaylie Cervantes (2 for 4, 3B, 2 RBI, run, walk), Alexis Rivera (2 for 4, 3 runs, walk), Lourdes Soria (2 for 4, 2B, run, RBI), and Ashley Bravo (2 for 5, 2B, run).

Soria earned the win in the circle as she went five innings while allowing three runs and eight hits.

Rio Hondo returns to South Coast Conference action on Thursday (Mar. 24) when its hosts Pasadena City College in a 3 p.m. game.
