Softball: Roadrunners shut out by East Los Angeles

Two days after cruising to a 10-0 win at Compton College, the Rio Hondo College offense was silenced in a 5-0 South Coast Conference loss to visiting East Los Angeles College on Thursday.

The Roadrunners totaled just four hits in the contest and left six runners on base. East Los Angeles scored four runs in the top of the first to put the game out of reach early.

Madeline Peralta took the loss, allowing four earned runs and eight hits over seven innings.

Rio Hondo dropped to 5-5 overall and 2-1 in conference play. The Roadrunners return to action on Friday (Feb. 14) when they travel to Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa for a non-conference game.
