Rio Hondo College outfielders Sarah Hauffen-Salgado and Victoria Medina both were named to the 2018 South Coast Conference North Division postseason team at Friday's conference coaches meeting. Hauffen-Salgado was a first-team selection while Medina was a second-team pick.

Hauffen-Salgado recently completed her final season with the Roadrunners and tied with Medina for the team lead with a .322 batting average. She totaled 37 hits, 20 runs, hit 4 doubles, and smacked a home run to go with 11 RBI. She was a major threat on the base paths and swiped a team-best 20 bases.

Medina, who just wrapped up her freshman year, led Rio Hondo with 38 hits, 10 doubles, and a .475 slugging percentage. She also added 2 home runs, a triple, and drove in 17 runs while scoring 10 runs.

It was a tough season for the Roadrunners in 2018. Rio Hondo compiled a 5-34-1 overall record and finished fifth in the SCC North Division at 0-12.
