The Rio Hondo College softball couldn't get its offense going and suffered an 8-0, five-inning loss at Pasadena City College on Tuesday. The South Coast Conference North Division defeat dropped the Roadrunners to 4-22 overall and 0-5 in division play.

Maria Enriquez singled to lead off the top of the second inning for Rio Hondo and was the lone blemish on Pasadena starting pitcher Britney Lopez' afternoon.

The Lancers (14-9, 3-2 SCC North) scored a run in the bottom of the first, another in the third, and blew the game open with a six-run, fifth-inning that invoked the mercy rule. PCC won its sixth straight game.

Alize Lopez took the loss for the Roadrunners after allowing eight runs and eight hits over 4 ⅔ innings. She struck out two but walked six.

The Roadrunners return to action on Thursday (March 29) when they host Mt. San Antonio College in a 3 p.m. SCC North Division game.
