Softball: Roadrunners come up empty in loss to Pasadena

The Rio Hondo College bats couldn't get much going today as the Roadrunners suffered an 11-0 South Coast Conference North Division loss to visiting Pasadena City College. The defeat dropped Rio Hondo to 3-12-1 overall and 0-2 in SCC North play.

The Roadrunners totaled just three hits in the five-inning contest. Maria Enriquez, Victoria Medina, and Taylor Alcala all hit singles.

PCC set the tone early, scoring three runs in the top of the first inning off Rio Hondo starting pitcher Taylor Rodriguez. The Lancers followed that with single runs in the second and third, two runs in the fourth, and sealed their win by scoring four times in the fifth.

Rio Hondo will look to snap its eight-game losing streak on Tuesday (Feb. 27) when the Roadrunners travel to Mt. San Antonio College for a 3 p.m. SCC North Division game.
