It was a very tough way to open the 2018 South Coast Conference North Division schedule for the Rio Hondo College Roadrunners. Host Chaffey College muscled up for 15 hits and handed Rio Hondo a 19-0 loss in five innings on Tuesday.

An eight-run first inning was followed up by an 11-run second-inning rally that took the Roadrunners out of it early.

Taylor Rodriguez, Sarah Hauffen-Salgado, and Taylor Alcala had Rio Hondo's lone hits in the ball game.

The Roadrunners will look to bounce back from the loss on Thursday (Feb. 22) when they host Pasadena City College in a 3 p.m. SCC North game.
