Following the close of the 2017 Rio Hondo College softball season, sophomore Brenae Martinez and freshman second baseman Tiana Rodriguez were both named to the All-South Coast Conference postseason team. Martinez earned second team honors while Rodriguez was a honorable mention selection.

Martinez was one of the most durable pitchers in the state this past season as her 37 appearances and 205 2/3 innings led all of Southern California. For the season, she totaled nine wins and tossed 23 complete games.

Rodriguez was the Roadrunners' primary leadoff hitter and compiled a .315 batting average. She led Rio Hondo with six doubles and 13 walks while scoring 17 runs on the season.

Rio Hondo recently wrapped up a tough 2017 season and went 10-29 overall. In their first year as a member of the South Coast Conference, the Roadrunners finished tied for third place in the SCC North Division at 3-9.
