WHITTIER – Four different Roadrunners scored while goalkeeper Arturo Bustamante Jr posted a shutout to help lead Rio Hondo College to a 5-0 non-conference win over visiting San Diego City College on Tuesday.
With the victory, the Roadrunners improved to 3-3-2 overall.
Sophomore Adan Villareal led Rio Hondo, scoring two goals. Gabriel Ponce, Robert Rodriguez, and Rogelio Silva also scored.
Bustamante Jr and the Rio Hondo defense were outstanding. He totaled five saves to post the Roadrunners' second consecutive and third shutout overall of the season.
Rio Hondo returns to action on Friday (Sep. 23) when the Roadrunners travel to Santa Monica College for a non-conference game.
